It all started with some batches of coronavirus cures suddenly becoming super viruses that turns its victims into anthropomorphic bat things, or Emenders. From there they decided to take over the world!
And then something very strange happened. Another infectious species came along, the Crawlers, from seemingly nowhere. Then the god-like Niters appeared and caused all sorts of elemental catastrophes to happen, including making the plants grow to unbelievable heights and some sick earthbending.
All Kristen wants is to protect the few humans that are left.
